Empowerment Through Presence
I have been exploring the idea of empowerment and what this really means for me and why it is so fundamental to my life and my offerings to the world. The first thing that came into my awareness was how gentle and quiet empowerment actually is. How silent it can be.
How this is not about striving, becoming more and being strong and loud… this is empowerment born from a steady grounded presence. An awareness of self within the body in the present moment. A way of operating that puts each of us at the centre of our own experience, fully aware of our own thoughts, feelings, sensations, subtle energy and nervous system, to the feedback available in every moment, in a gentle way that is simply steady.
Quiet clarity
There is a quiet clarity, a knowing of self that drops below the mind, that liberates us from trying and fixing and becoming and doing - that instead recognises we are already where we are meant to be. We are already here, living from our own authority, from an inner knowing that embraces a deep wisdom and intuitive knowing. That allows us to be responsive, open, interactive and discerning and to follow our inner guidance and flow. To trust ourselves and to trust life so fundamentally that inner and outer conflict subsides, boundaries are healthy, clear and self-honouring, relationships are nourishing and more beautiful, fulfilling, and nurturing, and the steps and path through life is felt from moment to moment.
In the empowerment of presence there is the unfolding now, and the next arising moment. There can be a sense of direction led from within but we no longer force ourselves along a linear path, no longer ignoring signals and messages from our body, heart and nervous system to rest, pause, slow down, reflect, integrate, redirect… we learn to show up with integrity, with a strength of heart and spirit, with an open and radiant heart and body ready to embrace life in its fullest sense.
Liberation
We learn to ride the rough and the smooth; to know we are capable and free to choose what is best at any given moment. This is liberation, this is to live with a naturally emerging joy that arises from being in connection, from knowing our sense of belonging, and from being directed from within. Liberated from old patterns, ways of thinking and doing that keep us looping the past, we are free to choose in the present.
There are still times we feel we lose our way, but there is a kindness and acceptance, and it passes more quickly. The pace can get too fast and the mind too busy, but we recognise it sooner and support our nervous system and slow the mind with gentleness, respect and self-love. We come to know life is made up of many small moments and the more we can be present to these moments, the more we experience ourselves within life, as life itself. We are present to life and to our experiences, without over-identifying with ourselves, without forcing, trying and efforting but from a quiet, gentle and steady presence of heart and human - of soul and spirit.
Reflection
What has spoken to you and reawoken through your inner knowing?
What are you remembering?
How can you notice your innermost nudges and quiet direction, and sense your way on? To listen… to really listen to where your time, energy and attention is wanted and needed at any given moment. To prioritise that which is authentic and aligns with your values and aliveness to life?
From this steadiness a fire and passion can also flow; empowerment can become stronger and more dynamic without losing our centre and integrity, without getting lost in the flames.
The power to choose
Knowing empowerment is not something we achieve, it arises naturally when we are fully present to ourselves, how will you embrace more of your presence and your embodied empowerment today embracing yourself, your power and your own wisdom?
Finding your empowerment through presence and realising you had the power to choose all along.
